PURPOSE:To always enable measurement of a cracked gas continuously by a method wherein two optical fibers are arranged with terminals thereof introduced into a closed hollow cell and an infrared rays generation means, a first infrared intensity measuring device or the like is connected to one of the optical fibers while a second infrared measuring device is connected to the other thereof to compute both the measured values thereof in comparison. CONSTITUTION:Two optical fibers 6 and 7 are introduced into a closed hollow cell 20 through an infrared condenser lens 5 with both terminals thereof facing each other and an infrared rays generation means 8 for outputting infrared rays and an infrared intensity measuring device 9 for measuring intensity of infrared rays outputted from the generation means 8 are connected to one optical fiber 6 drawn from the cell 20 while an infrared intensity measuring device 10 is provided on the other optical fiber 7 to measure intensity of infrared rays received and moreover, an arithmetic processing section 11 is provided to measure a density of a cracked gas in an insulating oil with a comparative computation of the results of measurement outputted from the both infrared measuring device 9 and 10. This always enables measurement of the cracked gas continuously while eliminating the need for outage of power during the measurement. |
