DECOMPOSITION OF ORGANOHALOGEN-COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To decompose an organohalogen-compound at high efficiency even if the concentration of the compound are low by introducing the organohalogen- compound solely or if necessary with water into a plasma. CONSTITUTION:An organohalogen-compound is introduced into a plasma to decompose it. As other methods, an organohalogen-compound with water or with a metal compound is introduced into a plasma to decompose the organohalogen-compound. Plasma generating apparatus to be used may be an induction heating type, direct current heating type, etc., and the organohalogen-compound may be in gas, liquid, and solid phase and the organohalogen-compound in 0.1ppm to 100% concentration can be decomposed. The reaction pressure is preferably 0.0001-5 atmospheric pressure.
