PURPOSE:To reduce the time of generation and test by updating the record of a key given from a screen for a transaction file and compiling a program source after the screen is defined. CONSTITUTION:An on-line program generation pattern being the program source is transferred to a source unit library. The record is updated by a content in which the source unit library is punched and registration is performed for the source unit library by a new name. When the program source of the source unit library is compiled, screen definition is developed, is sent to a load module library and a system is set to a performable state. Thus, an on-line program can easily be generated only by changing the conditions such as a screen definition name, an objective file name, a reading method and the contents of generation or correction. Furthermore, the test time is shortened since a fundamental part is not altered.
