PURPOSE:To make a standard pattern memory inexpensive without lowering a similarity degree calculating speed by holding a standard pattern to be used for the next similarity degree operation into a standard pattern register while the similarity degree operation between an input pattern and a certain standard pattern is executed. CONSTITUTION:While a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) 102 executes the similarity degree calculation between the standard pattern and the input pattern taken in the DSP 102, the standard pattern is held from a standard pattern memory 203 into a standard pattern register 205. Further, the DSP 102 uses the standard pattern held by this standard pattern register 205 for the next similarity degree calculation. Thus, the standard pattern memory 203 can be composed of an inexpensive memory, and the similarity degree calculating speed is never lowered. |
