PURPOSE:To enhance image density, fine line reproducibility and gradation characteristic by using a capsule toner having a specific grain size distribution. CONSTITUTION:The title toner is formed of core particles contg. magnetic powder and soft solid material and shells covering the particles. The toner contains 12 to 60piece% toner particles having <=5mum grain size, 1 to 33piece% toner particles having 8 to 12.7mum grain size, and <=2.0vol.% toner particles having >=16mum grain size and the volume average grain size of the toner is specified to 4 to 10mum. the image which is faithful to a latent image and has excellent reproducibility is obtd. by incorporating the toner particles having <=5mum grain size at the above-mentioned ratio into the toner. The spread of the toner particle in the latent image is enhanced and the uniformity of the image density is improved if the particles having 8 to 12.7mum grain size are incorporated at the above-mentioned ratio into the toner. |
