<p>PURPOSE: To use a handle for a heavy carton load by separating the transverse handle flaps along a transverse perforated slit from one another, and inwardly folding the same through a transverse elongated opening. CONSTITUTION: An upper panel of a carton is formed by a double panel structure, and a side flannel 2 includes a foldable inner panel 19. The transverse slits 26, 28 are perforated from both edges 24, 25 of an opening 21. The transverse handle flaps 41, 42 are foldably joined to an outer panel 33 along the fold lines 39, 40, and a transverse slit 45 is perforated. The handle flaps are inwardly folded and the transverse perforated slits 26a, 28a are formed on the outer panel 33. An adhesive is applied to an inner face of the outer upper edge by stippling, a side panel 2 is folded together with the inner panel 19, and the outer upper panel 33 is folded left to form the double thickness upper wall body. To carry a carton, the handle flaps 41, 42 are pressed down to be inwardly folded.</p> |
