PURPOSE:To obtain an electrical-insulating thermoform which is inexpensive and excellent in dimensional stability, chemical resistance and thermoformability into a three-dimensional article by using a polyethylene terephthalate polyester resin as a matrix and utilizing an extruded sheet without any base cloth. CONSTITUTION:An extruded sheet obtained by extruding a mixture of 100 pts.wt. polyethylene terephthalate or polyester containing at least 80mol% repeating ethylene terephthalate units with 5-30 pts.wt., desirably, 10-20 pts.wt. inorganic compound (desirably, talc, mica or wollastonite), 0.1-10 pts.wt., desirably, 0.2-5 pts.wt. phenylenebisoxazoline of the formula (wherein R1-R6 are each H or a monovalent hydrocarbon group), e.g., 2,2'-(1,3-phenylene)-bis(2- oxazoline), and 5-30 pts.wt., desirably, 10-20 pts.wt. fibrous reinforcement (usually, glass fiber of a fiber length of 0.1-10mm) is vacuum-formed by heating to, desirably, 100-160 deg.C to obtain an electrical-insulating thermoform of a degree of crystallization >=10%. |
