PURPOSE:To decode a primary color signal unable to be read out by storing a luminance signal in a luminance signal storage means and allowing an arithmetic means to calculate a desired primary color signal from two primary color signals and the luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:A separation means 111 separates picture information into a luminance signal and a hue signal. A color signal storage means 120 consists of a red signal storage means 115, a green signal storage means 117, and a blue signal storage means 119 and separates the hue signal into three primary color signals and stores them. A display means 121 displays the primary color signal stored in a color signal storage means 120 as a picture. A luminance signal storage means 122 stores the luminance signal. An arithmetic means 123 calculates two of the three primary color signals having the color signal storage means 120 and the luminance signal stored in the luminance signal storage means 122 to store the result in the color signal storage means 120. |
