PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording body having good color forming sensitivity and storage stability by containing a specific ester compound in a color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:Ester represented by formula I is contained. In a compound represented by said formula I, as an alkyl group represented by R1, R2 and R3, a lower alkyl group such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl, isobutyl, tertiary butyl or the like is designated. This ester compound, for example, methacrylic p-biphenyl ester can be easily synthesized by reacting lower unsaturated fatty acid, lower alkyl ester thereof or halide thereof with p-phenyl ester. The ester compound to be used represented by the formula I, a color forming leuco dye and a coupler are finely pulverized by a grinder or proper emulsifying apparatus and various additives are added to the finely pulverized mixture according to a purpose to prepare a coating solution. This coating solution is applied to paper or various films to obtain a desired thermal recording material. |
