PURPOSE:To easily obtain the title single crystal structural body by cutting the ingot of the synthetic corundum of a single crystal to produce a prism, optically polishing one surface, cutting the column at the plane perpendicular to the optically polished surface to form plate piece, optically polishing both the front and rear surfaces of the plate piece, superposing plural sheets of the plate pieces and joining the same. CONSTITUTION:The ingot of the synthetic corundum of the single crystal is cut to produce the prism 2. After the one surface 3 thereof is optically polished, the 4 surfaces inclusive of the optically polished surface 3 are enclosed by jigs and the column is cut at the plane perpendicular to the optically polished surface 3 to produce the plate piece 6. Both the front and rear surfaces of the plate piece 6 are optically polished and thereafter plural sheets of the plate pieces 6 are superposed on each other by using assembling jigs in such a manner that the optically polished surfaces of both the front and rear surfaces are registered to coincide with the same plane, the same edges, the same axes, and the same axial angles of the crystal. These plate pieces are then chemically pressurized and tightly adhered and are further heated at the temp. lower than the m.p. of the synthetic corundum of the raw materials by which the plate pieces are tightly adhered and joined. The single crystal structural body of the integrally assimilated synthetic corundum is thus obtd. |
