A container, e.g. for contaminated medical material, has a closure assembly that provides an access opening that can be opened and closed at will, and subsequently locked in the closed state for disposal. Thus a lid (l4) bears a rotatable disc (38), each having an access opening movable into and out of communication. A pin (60) on the disc extends into an arcuate channel (28) in the lid (14) to delimit the rotation. In the closed position, the pin is at one end of the channel (28), where it can be pushed inwardly irreversibly to prevent further rotation. It may be locked by engagement of its head (66) in an annular recess (5K)(Fig.5) and/or by passage of an oversized shank portion (174:Fig.8) through an aperture in the lid (114), thus locking the lid to the disc. |
