PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of machines owing to dropping of dummy bars and to make the safe insertion of the dummy bars possible by adding a checking device for pressurizing operation including an electric current detector, an electric current setter, a comparator, etc. to a controller for driving of insertion of the dummy bars. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of inserting dummy bars 1, a DC motor 4 which drives a chain conveyor 2 for conveying the bars 1 is run reversely and the driving current thereof is detected with an electric current detector 10 from an electric current controller 7 of a controller 14, and the detected value IT thereof and the set current IF corresponding to the torque required for holding the own weight of the bars 1 set with an electric current setter 12 are compared in a comparator 11. If (IT-IF) is positive, a signal of a normal state is transmitted from a signal outputter 13, and if the same is negative in a specified time, it is decided that the pressurizing device of pinch rolls 15 for holding the bars 1 is out of order, then the interlocking of the controller 14 is operated to stop driving of the motor 4. |
