PURPOSE:To correctly adjust the focus to a principal object intended by a photographer by operating an exposure value, based on a photometric output of a photometric area selected in accordance with a luminance distribution of a field among plural photometric outputs, and operating a lens driving quantum in accordance with its photometric area. CONSTITUTION:Each photometric area obtained by dividing a field into plural areas is divided and brought to photometry by a photometric means 301, and based on its photometric value, an area having high possibility that a principal field exists is selected in accordance with a luminance distribution of the field and an exposure value is operated by an exposure value arithmetic means 303. On the other hand, a focusing state detecting means 302 detects focusing states from plural areas which are used for its exposure operation, sends focusing information to a photographic lens driving quantum arithmetic means 304, and allows its means to operate a driving quantum of a photographic lens. In such a way, the driving quantum of the photographic lens is operated by the focusing information from the area used for the exposure operation, therefore, an optimum exposure value is obtained, and also, the focus can be adjusted correctly to the principal field. |
