The present invention concerns a device for forming damping liquid for printing plates in print works printing newspapers and periodicals. The damping liquid, which contains a chemical concentrate and water, is intended to be transferred onto the printing plates to facilitate printing of the newspaper or periodical. In order to obtain a correct percentage by volume of the concentrate in the water, a special mixer is provided which comprises at least one mixing cylinder 1, 2 and a metering cylinder 13 provided with piston. The mixer is designed in such a way that the percentage by volume of concentrate can be modified in a stepless manner by changing the stroke length of the piston in the metering cylinder. The device comprises an air valve 31 which, on one side, is connected to the air chamber in the upper part of the mixing cylinder 1, 2 and, on its other side, is connected to the compressed air line 26. This air valve 31 is designed such that the desired air pressure can be set on it and can be maintained essentially constant. In this way, the pressure of the damping liquid fed from the mixing cylinder 1, 2 to the damping apparatus is kept essentially constant. <IMAGE> |
