A push button switch for electronic appliances comprises a casing (18) having a recess (19), and a U-shaped push button member (11) assembled in the recess of the casing. The push button member consists of several legs (14) for fixing it to the casing through receiving holes (25), a push rod (16) operating an electric switch (29), and a hinge part (13) serving as a fulcrum formed between the legs and the push rod. On the bottom surface of the recess of the casing, a number of restricting ribs (22) are prepared for the excessive push of the button member.
