An inking mechanism comprises a duct roller (2) and a vibratory roller (4) oscillatable between the duct roller (2) and a transfer roller (3) feeding to the inking unit rollers. The vibratory roller (4) is continuously drivable by way of a cam (5) which is driven by an electric motor (6). Regulation of the rotational speed of the motor (6) is provided by a first element (7) for measuring the rotational speed (nDZ) of a printing plate cylinder of the machine, a transmitter (8) for the target rotational speed (nH) of the cam, a summation element (9) for the signals of the first measuring element (7) and the transmitter (8), a second element (10) for measuring the actual rotational speed of the cam, a comparison element (11) for the signals of the summation element (9) and the second measuring element (10), a regulator (12) and a setting member (13). The ratio of the cam speed (nH) to the cylinder speed (nDZ) is adjustable and regulable to be constant for changes in the cylinder speed. <IMAGE>
