PURPOSE: To obtain a photochemically stabilized fiber material by treating an undyed or dyed polyamide fiber material with a fiber-reactive organic copper complex of the reaction product of an o-hydroxybenzoyl derivative and an aliphatic diamine, etc. CONSTITUTION: An undyed or dyed polyamide fiber material or a mixture of it with another fiber is treated with a fiber-reactive organic copper complex of the reaction product of an o-hydroxybenzoyl derivative of formula I (R is H or a 1-4C alkyl; the OH substituent is located in the 3-, 4- or 5-position) with an aliphatic diamine or a hydroxylamine, such as a copper complex of formula II (R is H or a 1-4C alkyl; x1 and y1 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl; the OH-substituent is located in the 3-, 4- or 5-position), formula III, etc., to give the objective polyamide fiber material photochemically stabilized by the high content of copper of the fiber by sufficient uniform exhaustion on the polyamide fiber material. |
