PURPOSE:To prevent gear noise at the time of establishing a backing-up stage by temporarily frictionally engaging a fixing member with a braking member at the time of moving the braking member which can be integrally rotated with a first idling gear to a second idling gear side. CONSTITUTION:By moving a sleeve 45, as the chamfer portions 54a of spline teeth 54 are brought into contact with the chamfer portions 51a of spline teeth 51, strong frictional engaging force is generated between both taper faces 46a, 31a and, even when a main shaft 2 is rotated by inertial force, braking force is operated to stop the rotation of a first idling gear 181. After that, the sleeve 45 is further moved rightward and the spline teeth 54 are engaged with the spline teeth 53 of a second idling gear 182 which is at rest, and the first and second idling gears 181, 182 can rotate around an idling gear shaft 27 while being mutually linked, to establish a backing-up stage gear train GR. Thereby, the generation of gear noise can be prevented at the time of establishing the backing-up stage. |
