This frame is of the type consisting of a receptacle with front opening provided with means for retention in an aperture in the dashboard of the motor vehicle and with an independent rear end wall, which retention means consist of the actual material constituting the frame, without the need for auxiliary pieces, these means consisting of tongues stamped into the four walls of the frame and which can easily be folded laterally in order to be arranged towards the outside of the plane of said walls and to impinge via their front end against the inner face of the dashboard. The coupling of the rear end wall to the receptacle is achieved without the need for auxiliary means, for which coupling said end wall has, on each of its sides, pairs of studs, which are at a different height and offset obliquely, which are inserted selectively into corresponding pairs of holes provided in the side walls of the receptacle. <IMAGE>
