PURPOSE:To cope with an operation mode beyond the capability range of the copying machine by setting an operation mode prescribed with data of a storage medium when the operation mode is settable, but maintaining a last mode and generating a warning when the mode can not be set. CONSTITUTION:A main control part 201 is connected to an IC card connector 203 through a data bus 205 to transmit/receive data to/from the IC card 200, and also connected to a RAM 206 which is backed up with its internal battery. Further, the control part is connected to the driving circuit of a display part 204 such as an overspecification warning display part, a trouble display part, and a two-digit numeric display part to make various displays corresponding to the operation states, etc., of the copying machine. Consequently, it is known whether or not the operation mode which is prescribed with the data of the IC card is not within the capability range of the copying machine. |
