Apparatus for drying vegetable pulps

Apparatus which comprises a tank 1 housing a saturated vapour/reheated vapour exchanger 2. Between the wall of the tank 1 and the exchanger 2 are formed three annular chambers, an outer chamber 12 via which the reheated vapour, impelled by a fan 7, circulates, an intermediate chamber 14 into which a conduit 15 for supplying pulp opens out, and an inner chamber 13 via which the drying vapour returns towards the exchanger 2. The walls which limit the annular chambers have grooves for the passage of the vapour. The apparatus is essentially applicable to the drying of beet pulp at sugar-production plants. <IMAGE>
