Bread ages rapidly under unfavourable environmental conditions. This machine, which automatically delivers bread, for self-service, and operates with coins, stores the product in a conditioned environment, preserving it over a long period of time in a just-baked state. The bread items, classified by format on the scoops of a number of conveyors (one format per conveyor) are presented in front of small windows provided with transparent hatches. After selection of the desired format, and by inserting suitable coins, the user is able to open the hatch, taking the item via the unobstructed window. The number and capacity of the scoops may be varied as a function of the size of the item, thereby achieving maximum storage capacity. A double door makes it possible to gain access to the basic elements of the machine without prejudicing the environmental conditions of the storage compartment. The automatic components of the air-conditioner, conveyors, hatch operation and coin slot are governed by a programmable computer/robot.
