Packaging for foodstuffs, such as fruit or vegetables, comprises a sheet, net or tubular sheath or fine denier textile fibre, e.g. 15-100 denier elastomeric textured nylon multifibres, converted into a finely knitted structure with small stitches. The finely knitted fabric provides a freely aerated package intended specifically for foodstuffs, with a degree of elasticity along its length. The packaged goods are easily visible, and held firmly with only slight pressure. The package is capable of elastic deformation in any direction.
