PURPOSE:To maintain the state focused at all times to the subject meeting the photographer's intention by providing a means which determines a movement vector at every block region obtd. by dividing the image plane to at least >=2 parts and a means which sets the distance measurement region in accordance with the vector information. CONSTITUTION:A background region D is held static unless a camera-shake is generated while a photographer is taking pictures by fixing the camera to the subjects A, B, C and, therefore, the information on the camera-shake is obtd. if the movement vector of the region D is detected. The blur quantity and the direction thereof are, therefore detected by a blur detecting circuit 60 and a variable vertical angle prism 57 is driven in the direction of correcting the same. As a result, the distance measurement region is set at the subject moving within the photographing image plane while the camera-shake is corrected. The focusing is thus continued without generating perspective competition. The generation of the incident that the main subject deviates from the distance measurement region and the focus transfers to the background is obviated and the subject moving in the image plane can be traced. |
