A meat press for use in flattening cut slices of meat, or the like, comprises a press bed (16) having a horizontal bearing surface (31), a press plate (27) mounted above the press bed (16) for reciprocating movement in a vertical direction and having a horizontal press surface (29), and driving means (41, 42), by which the press plate (27) may be brought to move from a lifted rest position in a downward direction towards the press bed (16) to press a slice of meat (30) resting thereon and then be lifted back to said rest position. In order to facilitate a high production capacity and a convenient and safe use of the press, the press plate is formed as a circular feed table (16), mounted for rotation around a vertical axis (36) and having substantially larger horizontal dimensions than the press plate (27), which is located excentrically in relation to the feed table (16) at a stationary working station (28) situated within a limited sector above said table. |
