PURPOSE: To reduce the number of terminals on a connector panel by controlling a programmable switch array in accordance with user's selection from a mutual connection menu displayed on a display screen. CONSTITUTION: In order to program the programmable switch array 200, a suitable instruction is inputted by a remote control hand unit and a menu is accessed to display it. At the time, an IR detector/decoder 250 receives and decodes the instruction and sends the decoded instruction to a controller 240. The controller 240 energizes a text/graphic generator 260 and instructs a video processor 220 to display a text/graphic signal generated by the generator 260 on the display screen of an image tube 280. The controller 240 controls the array 200 in each user's selection to connect a suitable terminal to a specific internal circuit for fulfilling a required function.
