The roaster has a plurality of small baskets 17 mounted in a rotary manner on its actual shaft and in a rotary manner with respect to a common shaft 21, constituting a system with planetary rotary movement. The oven has a sole plate 3 for the combustible material, which is mounted on telescopic columns 4 which enable the height of said sole plate 3 to be graduated and, specifically, enable the sole plate to be brought closer to or to be moved further away from the product to be roasted, which is contained in the small baskets 17. The planetary movement of said small baskets 17 is achieved on the basis of a pair of standardized chains 26 and 36, the first of which is secured to a disc 22, and meshing with an actuating pinion 27 in order to produce the unit's rotary movement, whilst the second chain 36 is mounted statically and meshes with a plurality of pinions 31 on whose shaft the actual supports for the baskets 17 are mounted. <IMAGE>
