In a process for recognizing errors in a stereo-lambda regulation system, similar values from both control circuits are compared with each other in order to recognize errors, and when a deviation is detected that exceeds a predetermined amount, this is considered as an error indication. A process for handling such errors ensures that when an error is detected in one of the control circuits, the setting value form the intact circuit is also used for the faulty circuit. Preferably, the adaptation values from the intact circuit are also used for the faulty side. These processes take advantage of the fact that when two similar circuits are available, information from one circuit may also be used for the other circuit. |
