In the case of conventional rotary piston compressors, operating on the Wankel principle, three working chambers result. In one of these chambers underpressure arises, thereby producing a negative torque. In addition, in this case only limited inlet and outlet cross-sections are available, so that only low delivery rates can be achieved. By means of the rotary piston compressor according to the invention, the above-mentioned disadvantages are to be eliminated. Since the casing of the compressor, which contains the running path of the piston, is interrupted, only two working chambers result. No negative torque is produced and inlet and outlet openings of almost any size are available. The compressor is to be used as a stationary, but also as a portable compressor, and also as a compressor in car air-conditioning systems.
