<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the always optimum steering characteristic independently of the variation of the steering frequency by setting the transmission function between the steering angle and the actual steering angle so as to satisfy a prescribed equation, in a control means for controlling the steering gear ratio varying means. CONSTITUTION:The lower edge of an input side steering shaft 2 and the upper edge of an output steering shaft 3 are connected through a planetary gear type steering gear ratio varying device 7. The variable speed change motor 8 in the varying device 7 is controlled by a controller 11 on the basis of the outputs of a steering angle sensor 9 and a car speed sensor 10. In this case, the varying device 7 performs control so that the transmission function G(S) between the steering angle theta(S) and the actual steering angle delta(S) satisfies the following equation: G(S)=delta(S)/theta(S)=(B.S<2>+C.S+D)/(A.S+1). In this case, F is a coefficient proportional to car speed, B, D is the function of the car speed and the aimed value of the stationary yaw rate gain, and C is the function of the above-described aimed value, and S is a Laplacean.</p> |
