Hydraulic steering servo - has primary part of steering column with forked drives gripping servo pistons and further linked by torsion rod

The servo has the primary (1) part of the steering columm with forked drive sections (4,5) gripping servo pistons (6,7). The two parts are further linked by a torsion rod (12). The primary section has axial bearings (21,22) with spring (24) force to control the drag. Futher control is obtained by altering the angle of the needle bearings. The spring (24) is adjustable to generate a controlled reaction force. ADVANTAGE -- Adjustable servo, stable steering control.
