PURPOSE:To prevent a neg. electrode lid from separating off by welding an aux. lid to a pos. electrode lid which is hot pressure bonded to the undersurface of an alpha-alumina ring, and absorbing increasing internal pressure when a battery goes into rupture by expansive deformation of the aux. lid. CONSTITUTION:Inside of a solid electrolyte 1 is filled with iron fibers 7, and a neg. electrode current collector 6 is arranged followed by screwing fast a neg. electrode terminal 5 at the top of the current collector 6, a neg. electrode lid 3 is welded with this neg. electrode terminal 5. Then electric insulation 11, 12 (of alpha-alumina or asbestos) is arranged on this neg. electrode lid 3, and upon welding an aux. lid A to the top of a neg. electrode lid 4', another aux. lid B is welded to the inside of the first named aux. lid A, followed by welding of the outside of the aux. lid B to the top of the battery jar. Accordingly the aux. lids A, B relieve the bending stress in a solid electrolyte tube 1 due to thermal expansion of a sulfur molding 10, and the neg. electrode lid 3 is prevented from separating off. |
