<p>PURPOSE:To control a sheet thickness with extremely high accuracy by measuring the change in a mill constant on-time from a change in the characteristics of a load cell and controlling a rolling reduction according to the mill constant changing on-time, then executing rolling. CONSTITUTION:A lock-on signal 14 is inputted to a mill constant computing device 8 when a strip 5 bites into a rolling mill 1. Respective storage memories 11 stores the rolling load P and the lock-on value of a rolling down cylinder position S. The respective deviations P, S by the momentary change of the lock-on value are inputted to a delay processor 12. The processor 12 compares and computes the rolling deviation P, the rolling down cylinder position deviation S and the sheet thickness deviation detected by a sheet thickness gage 6 at the same timing and determines the computed value 9 of the mill constant by the differences from the previous sampling values stored in the memories 13. A sheet thickness controller 10 controls the rolling reduction by the computed value 9 of the mill constant. The sheet thickness accuracy is thus stably improved.</p> |
