PURPOSE:To detect the hanging of multiple works simply and correctly by utilizing a ultrasonic wave to judge the number of works in a device for detecting the hanging of multiple works such as a metallic plate, etc. CONSTITUTION:If two works 17, 19 are hung, a part 21 of the ultrasonic wave transmitted from an oscillating unit 6 of a ultrasonic transmitting unit 9 to works 17, 19 through a contact piece 8 is reflected by the boundary face of the work 17 and work 19 and another part 23 of the ultrasonic wave is reflected by the lower face of the lower work 19, and they return to the contact piece 8 as echoes with a time difference between them. These echoes are sent to a receiving unit 11 from the contact piece as received pulses. Next, two signals with a time difference are sent from the receiving unit 11 to an accumulating unit 5, where two signals are counted and the result is sent to a judging unit 7, which generates an error output when the count number is two or more, thereby the multiple takeout of works can be detected. |
