The present invention relates to a toothbrush having a handle and a brush support. To remind the user to replace his toothbrush in good time, it is proposed that at least part of the toothbrush be designed from gradually decomposing, disintegrating or discolouring material. A water-soluble plastic is preferably used for this purpose.
