PURPOSE: To always uniformize the appearance of a thermal transfer print by using a resin-coated paper support with specific surface roughness having a dye image receiving polymer layer thereon. CONSTITUTION: Any polymer material having thermal deformation temp. sufficiently high to be prevented from being excessively softened by a thermal printing head or a finish roller can be used in the resin coating of a paper support. Pref., a polyolefin such as polyethylene, polypropylene or the like is used. Herein, the surface roughness of the resin coating is set to 7.5 Ra microinch AA or less. The dye image receiving polymer layer of a dye receiving element contains, for example, polycarbonate, polyurethane, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, a styerene/acrylonitrile copolymer, polycaprolactone or a mixture of them. |
