PURPOSE: To scavenge the residual enzyme from the interior of a sealed container by introducing alcohol gas together with the dry intact complete cell including the existing alcohol oxidaze enzyme, the destructed pieces of cell or the cell extract. CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of a complete cell including alcohol oxidaze, the destructed pieces of cell or the cell extract has 10-30 wt.% of water content. The composition includes other cellular component of the decomposed cell with the intact complete cell, e.g. protein, lipid, carbohydrate or the like. Alcohol oxidaze is obtained from, e.g. C1 compound assimilative yeast or fungi. The dry complete cell, the destructed pieces of cell or the cell extract is directly introduced into a container from which the enzyme is to be scavenged, or is capsulized by a gas permeable film. The alcohol is separately introduced into the container as the vapour, or combined with the flash of the inert gas, and is added by about 0.1μmol/ml - about 1.5μmol/ml to the total atmospheric volume. |
