PURPOSE:To reproduce a radiograph which has superior diagnostic perform in a short time by finding characteristic values for extracting only effective components for diagnosis from a read image signal and normalizing and converting the image signal for read gain correction and/or recording scale factor correction according to the characteristic values. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor 92 finds the characteristic values Sk and Gp from the read image signal Sd which is inputted, line by line, generates a conversion table based upon those characteristic values, and also performs RI removal processing according to a specific program stored in a processor memory 93. Namely, the characteristic values Sk and Gp for extracting only the effective components for the diagnosis from the read image signal are found and the read image signal is normalized and processed based upon those characteristic values for the read gain correction and/or recording scale factor correction. Consequently, the radiograph which has superior observation read adequacy is obtained without prereading. |
