PURPOSE:To provide the subject roaster having a rotary drum, a far infrared heater and a suction evacuation apparatus at the center of a furnace body, giving roasted beans such as coffee beans having improved commercial value, free from the problems of fire hazard, etc., and having improved roasting efficiency. CONSTITUTION:The objective roaster is provided with (A) a rotary drum 5 supported in a state rotatable around a horizontal rotary shaft 6 in a rotary chamber 4 of a furnace body 3, (B) a number of far infrared heaters H arranged in a state surrounding the outer circumference of the drum 5 and (C) a suction evacuation apparatus 15 to such the air in the rotary chamber 4 during roasting and reduce the pressure below the atmospheric pressure. |
