<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition prevented from undergoing bleeding on coarse paper, nozzle plugging, etc., by adding a colloidal dispersion resin as a fixing agent to an ink for ink jet printing containing water, an alkanolamine, a colorant, etc. CONSTITUTION:An ink composition for ink jet printing is produced by mixing water (A) with an alkanolamine (B) (e.g., monoethanol-amine) as a water-soluble organic solvent, an acid dye and/or a direct dye (C) as a colorant and a colloidal dispersion resin (D) as a fixing agent as essential components. Component D can be produced by introducing a suitable amount of carboxyl groups into an emulsion polymer, increasing the hydrophilicity of the polymer by adding an alkali and bringing the product into a half-dissolved state. The obtained ink composition is the most suitable especially for an ink jet printer of a computer terminal, which is required to be maintenance-free.</p> |
