<p>A compact optical projection system with liquid crystal modulators comprises a recombination system (10) which is provided with color-selective mirrors (31, 32) whose normals extend at an angle of less than 45<o> to the incident light beams. The entrance windows (11, 12, 13) are provided with liquid crystal modulators (41a, 42a, 43a) and polarisers (41b, 42b, 43b) for modulating the light beams. The recombination system (10) is filled with a liquid (18) so that heat developed in the optical elements as a result of absorption of light is efficiently dissipated.</p> |
