PURPOSE:To detect the position of an original scanning part and to control the drive of a motor so that the original scanning part reaches a target stop position by counting the number of pulses of the output signal of a rotary encoder. CONSTITUTION:The first stop-position control of a main control part 54 counts the number of the pulses of the output signal of the rotary encoder 45 so as to detect the position of the original scanning part 9; the original scanning part 9 almost reaches the target stop position by controlling the drive of the motor 18 on the basis of the detected position so that the original scanning part 9 reaches near the target stop position. Then, the second stop-position control of the main control part 54 divides one pulse of the output signal of the rotary encoder 45 into plural parts in the time axis direction so as to read the pulse; the position of the original scanning part 9 is detected by using the signal values of the division points, and the drive of the motor 18 is controlled based on the detected position so that the original scanning part 9 reaches the target stop position. Thus, the original scanning part 9 can be accurately placed at the target stop position. |
