摘要 <p>The mechanism makes a geared and disconnectable connection between the drive shaft of a turbine in the exhaust system and a pinion (1), connected to the output drive shaft of the i.c. engine. The rotation speed of the turbine, e.g. 50,000 r.p.m., is reduced to about 2,000 r.p.m. The turbine input is coupled via a planetary gear system to an intermediate drive shaft. The intermediate shaft is linked by a plate clutch 814) to an elastic coupling system. The clutch is disengaged by a centrifugal sprung piston system until the engine speed reaches a suitable rate.
