PURPOSE:To detect a position by a TV camera by placing a plate of a stripe pattern having sufficiently a luminance error in a reference position, so that an error to a measured value of width of a stripe derived from a video signal becomes small sufficiently. CONSTITUTION:A strip of a plate 2' is parallel to a reference position P, and width of the stripe is measured precisely in advance. A TV camera 1 is inclined by an angle alpha by (x, y) from the reference position P. Width to a first black stripe is R1=x-ytan(alpha-theta1). theta1 denotes a value obtained by converting a position on the camera of the stripe of a distance R1 detected in the camera to an angle. With regard to R2-R8, as well, the same relation is formed. While varying initial values of (x), (y) and alpha, the camera position (x, y) and the inclined angle alphaare derived so that a difference of both sides becomes small sufficiently. In such a way, an installed position of the TV camera can be detected simply and with high accuracy without using a mechanical measuring instrument. |
