PURPOSE:To obtain a high S/N tracking signal in simple constitution and to ensure the easy and accurate tracking control by recording magnetically a prescribed array bit string of a magnetic disk while performing the tracking control after detecting optically the bit string in a scoop system. CONSTITUTION:A bit string 5 of the wobbling bits 7 and 8 meandering in the radius directions at both sides of each magnetic recording part 5' of a magnetic disk 6 is irradiated with a semiconductor laser 10 attached to a magnetic head slider, etc. Thus the light radiated from the laser 10 is weakened by the reflected light of the string 5. Then the string 5 is read out by a photodetector in a scoop system and a tracking signal is obtained. Thus a magnetic recording job is carried out to the part 5' during the tracking control. In such a detecting way of the wobbling bits with use of the scoop system, a high S/N tracking signal is obtained with no use of an optical system nor the laser light of high intensity. Thus it is possible to perform an easy and accurate on-track magnetic recording job in simple and compact constitution. |
