Fuel additives. Use of new additives for improving the spontaneous ignition resistance of fuels, characterised in that these additives are in the form of a micellar compound consisting of the combination of a metal salt of a nonsulphurous organic acid with a metal compound, at least one of the metals in the said salt or the said compound being known as a metal improving the octane number of the fuels. Application to the improvement of spontaneous ignition resistance.
