An electromagnetic induction cooking apparatus provides a substantially constant input power supplied to an induction heating coil. The apparatus includes plate means on which a first or second cooking utensil is placed. The first cooking utensil is made of the material having relatively high specific permeability and/or specific resistance, and the second cooking utensil is made of the material having relatively low specifipc permeability of specific resistance. DC power source means applies a first DC voltage or a second DC voltage.
