PURPOSE:To obtain the title polyester having excellent heat distortion resistance, etc., by blending a specific aromatic ring-containing organic polybasic acid with a specific polyhydric alcohol or polyhydric phenol, polymerizing under heating, molding at a stage before the polymer reaches a gelatinous state and repolymerizing under heating. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic ring-containing tri- or polyfunctional organic polybasic acid (e.g., trimesic acid) is blended with a di- or polyhydric alcohol (e.g., ethylene glycol) or polyhydric phenol (e.g., catechol), polymerized under heating at >=100 deg.C, preferably 200-300 deg.C, molded (molded preferably into a filmy state or fibrous state) in a stage before the polymer reaches a gelatinous state and then repolymerized under heating at >=100 deg.C, preferably 200-300 deg.C to give the aimed polyester having excellent chemical resistance. |
