PURPOSE:To certainly keep a capping state even when backlash is present by bringing a projection part and a receiving part to a contact state at two points at the time of capping. CONSTITUTION:When a cap 6 and a head 1 are brought to a contact state in such a case that capping is performed by the operation of a carriage 2, the cap 6 is pressed by the head 1 to be ready to escape but a joggle part 2a and a hole part 9b are brought to a contact state, and the head 1 and the cap 6 are relatively fixed to hold a capping state. At this time, since the joggle part 2a and the hole part 9b are in a contact state at two points P1, P2, no backlash is generated and a certain capping state is kept. Even when the joggle part 2a is relatively shifted with respect to the position of the hole part 9b in the (+) direction of a y-axis by the backlash of an apparatus, the joggle part 2a is brought into contact with the surface of the slider hole part 9b on the side of the point P1 and the carriage 2 is pushed in the (-) direction of an x-axis with capping operation to become a capping state. |
