THERMAL RECORDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To improve a matching property with a thermal head by a method wherein a thermal recording layer is formed by applying a heat sensitive coating liquid containing a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a coloring agent onto a base material to be dried, and a protective layer containing a specific component is laminated thereon. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer prepared by applying a heat sensitive coating liquid containing a colorless or light-colored basic dye of 0.8mum or under in average particle size and a coloring agent of 0.8mum or under in average particle size onto a transparent base material to be dried is formed. A protective layer containing polyvinyl alcohol or denatured polyvinyl alcohol and amorphous silica or kaolin is laminated on the thermal recording layer. By this structure, a thermal recording material which is efficient in transparency and efficient in a matching property with a thermal head can be obtained.
